How it all began
Canon's inkjet printer history started in the mid-1970s, initiated from an experiment, a soldering iron in contact with the needle tip of a syringe filled with ink, caused ink to spurt out as a result. This experiment led Canon to investigate the way ink droplets could be caused to swell and spurt through heating them, research which gave birth to Canon's proprietary Bubble Jet printing technology.
However nursing a discovery like this through R&D into a successful product and business required a tremendous amount of further work and manpower. Akira Asai was one of the engineers who, after joining Canon in 1982, became involved in Bubble Jet technology and helped take to its current level of maturity.
Focusing primarily on fluid dynamics, and using computer simulation as a core technology, Asai has made a major contribution to the establishment of Bubble Jet printing technology. It was in 1985, and very much thanks to Asai's analysis of the basic phenomena involved, that the world's first inkjet printer, the BJ-80, appeared. In 1999 the BJ F850 went on sale as Canon's first inkjet printer offering "photo quality" printing, and development of the ultra-high density print head that made such quality possible owed much to Asai's analysis of the mechanisms of print head bubble formation and droplet ejection. This led in turn to the development of FINE, Canon's core technology in new generation of inkjet printers, which delivers the awesome photo quality printing.
Canon was formed (1935) The first camera was the Kwanon with a KasyaPa 50mm/f3.5 lens, and the
second model was the Canon Original with a Nikkor(!) 50mm/f4.5 lens.
The mighty Canon brand is a registered trademark in
more than 200 countries and regions
worldwide.
By continuing to pursue both image quality and speed,
Canon made it possible to print high-quality digital
photographs in the comfort of our own home. Canon
inkjet printers ensure consistent colour reproduction.
The great news now is that more and more of us are realising we don't need to pay top price when the Canon replacement cartridges we can get from companies such as I have recommended are every bit as good and reproduce colours which are both sharp and vibrant.
