October 22 1992 Lexmark announces its first inkjet printer — IBM Colour Jetprinter PS 4079, 360 x 360 dpi for $3,495.
Aug. 15 1994 Lexmark announces its internally developed inkjet colour printer — ExecJet IIc.
Nov. 4 1996 The industry's first dual-cartridge inkjet under $200 — Lexmark 2030 colour Jetprinter — is launched.
April 21 1997 The industry's first inkjet capable of printing 1,200 x 1,200 dpi is announced — Lexmark 7000 colour Jetprinter, which used the Lexmark Excimer laser cut printhead nozzles.
Nov. 25 1997 Lexmark announces the Lexmark 1000 colour Jetprinter will be sold for $99 until Jan. 31, 1998, making it the first colour printer in the industry under $100.
Feb. 17 1998 Lexmark announces the Lexmark 5700 colour Jetprinter, featuring the new Accu-Feed paper handling system for virtually jam-proof feeding on a wide variety of media.
May 19 1998 Lexmark forms partnership with Compaq to produce Compaq-branded inkjet printers.
Oct. 6 1998 The industry's first 2-in-1 printer, Lexmark 5770 Photo Jetprinter, is launched, allowing users to edit, print and store digital photos without a PC.
May 1 2000 Lexmark announces the world's first inkjet printer to deliver 2,400 x 1,200 dpi in both black and colour on all paper types — Lexmark Z52 colour Jetprinter.
Oct. 30 2000 Lexmark announces the industry's first sub-$200 colour inkjet scanner/printer/copier — Lexmark Z82.
Week of Nov. 20 2000 For the first time, Lexmark ranks No. 1 in total retail market share in the United States in inkjet printer sales with 40 percent (45.6 percent when including Lexmark's Compaq-branded printers)
March 18 2002 Lexmark sets another precedent in print resolution with not one, but two industry firsts: 3600 x 1200 dpi and 4800 x 1200 dpi on multiple paper types with the 2002 Z-line.
Sept. 24 2002 Lexmark announces strategic alliance with Dell to develop and produce Dell inkjet and laser printers and related aftermarket cartridges.
